Effect of Deduhonghua-7 Powder on the Liver Function and Fibrosis in Rats with Experimental Liver Fibrosis

Abstract

Objective To observe the effect and mechanism of Mongolia medicine Deduhonghua-7Powder for liver fibrosis induced by CCl4and pig serum(PS).Methods Totally 120rats were randomized into the CCl4 model group and PS model group,with 60in each.The CCl4 model group was given intraperitoneal injection of 30% CCl4olive oil solution and the PS model group was given intraperitoneal injection of 0.5ml PS.The rats in the CCl4model group and PS model group were randomized into normal control group,model group,colchicines group,Deduhonghua-7Powder large-dose group and Deduhonghua-7Powder small-dose group,with 12in each.The normal control group and model group were given 2ml/100g of distilled water each time,the colchicines group was given 0.2mg/kg of colchicines intragastrically and the Deduhonghua-7Powder largedose and small-dose groups were given 0.52k/kg or 0.31g/kg of Deduhonghua-7Powder intragastrically,2ml/100g,twice daily.The administration lasted for 7weeks.The liver function and four indicators of fibrosis were observed.The changes of liver histopathology were observed with HE,Masson and Gomori staining.The degrees of inflammatory activity and fibrosis were scored.Results Comparing with the normal control group,there were significant differences in the liver function,indicators of fibrosis and degrees of inflammatory activity and fibrosis in the CCl4model group and PS model group(P0.05).Comparing with the model group,the liver function,indicators of fibrosis and changes of histopathology were significantly improved in the colchicines group and Deduhonghua-7Powder large-dose and small-dose groups(P0.05).Comparing with the model group,the degrees of inflammatory activity and fibrosis were significantly decreased in the colchicines group and Deduhonghua7Powder large-dose and small-dose groups(P0.05).Conclusion Deduhonghua-7Powder has antifibrotic effect,which maybe relevant to reducing inflammation and immune injury,inhibiting collagen synthesis and promoting collagen degradation.
