Abstract
Objective: To investigate the effect of matrix metalloproteinase-9 (MMP-9),tissue inhibitor of metalloproteinase-1 (TMP-1)and high sensitive C-reactive protein (hs-CRP) on the stability of coronary atherosclerotic plaque. Methods:45 patients with acute coronary syndrome (ACS) were enrolled as experiment group,in which 24 patients with acute myocardial infaction (AMI) and 21 patients with unstable angina (UA) as well as 20 patients with stable angina (SA) were studied and 20 health volunteers served as control. The levels of MMP-9,TIMP-1 and hs-CRP were detected and compared.Coronary angiography (CAG) was carried out in experiment group, and Gensini's score was calculated to evaluate the relationships between MMP-9,TIMP-1,MMP-9/TIMP-1,hs-CRP and Gensini's scores. The incidence of heart events in 1 week was observed in ACS patients. The levels of MMP-9,TIMP-1,MMP-9/TIMP-1 and hs-CRP between ACS patients with heart events and those without heart events were compared. Results:①The levels of MMP-9,TIMP-1,MMP-9/TIMP-1 and hs-CRP is ACS group were significantly higher than those in SA group and control group (P0. 01);②The levels of MMP-9,MMP-9/TIMP-1 and hs-CRP in AMI group were higher than those in UA group (P0. 01,P0. 05,P0. 01);③In ACS patients,MMP-9 was positively associated with MMP-9/TIMP-1 and hs-CRP (P0. 01).TIMP-1 was inversely associated with MMP-9/TIMP (P0. 01).hs-CRP was positively associated with MMP-9/TIMP (P0. 05).There was no correlation between Gensini's score and MMP-9,TIMP-1,MMP-9/TIMP-1 or hs-CRP (P0. 05);④The levels of MMP-9,MMP-9/TIMP-1 and hs -CRP in patients with heart events in 1 week were significantly higher than those in patients without heart events (P0. 01,P0. 05,P0. 01). Conclusion:Inflanmation may by one of risk factors which induces ACS.The higher expression of MMP-9 promotes devision of plaques which involves in ACS.MMP-9,MMP-9/TIMP and hs-CRP are strongly associated with plaque unstability and be the indictor of plaque stability in ACS patients. They may be applied in the early prevention and management of ACS.
