Abstract
Objective:To observe the effect of the Salvia chinensis Benth decoction on hepatic injury model mice induced by Carbon tetrachloride(CCl4)and provide medical basis for its clinical use. Methods:The acute hapatic injury model mice were prepared by subcutaneous injection of CCl4.The protective effect of Salvia chinensis Benth decoction on CCl4 induced hepatic injury model was investigated by determine the activity of alanine aminotransferase(ALT)and aspartate aminotransferase(AST) in serum, liver mass index and the increase of body weight in mice. Results:High dose group of Salvia chinensis Benth decoction inhibitied the abnormal increase of ALT activity in serum, reduced the liver mass index and improved the increase of body weight after liver damage by CCl4.Conclusion:Salvia chinensis Benth decoction has obvious protective effection on CCl4 induced acute chemical hepatic injury model in mice.
