Efficacy of Citalopram and Perception Treatment in Cure of Post-natal Depression

Objective To study the efficacy of citalopram and Cognitive therapy in the cure of post-natal depression.Methods Sixty-eight patients with post-natal depression induced by delivery were randomly assigned to the treatment groups for citalopram combined Cognitive therapy or single citalopram treatment for 6 weeks.The efficacy was evaluated with Hamilton depression rating scale before and after treatment.Results The scores of HAMD are significantly lower after treatment between two groups,the scores and the decrease rates of HAMD in citalopram combined Cognitive therapy group are significant than the single citalopram group after 1 weeks treatments.The scores of HAMD and the decrease rates of HAMD in citalopram combined Cognitive therapy group are significant than the single citalopram group after 1,2,4,6weeks treatment.The side effects were no significant between two groups.Conclusions Citalopram combined the Cognitive therapy can increase curative effect and shorten the period of treatment.
