Fu's acupuncture therapy combined with manipulation for lumbar intervertebral disc herniation

Objective To observe the therapeutic effects of Fu's acupuncture therapy com- bined with manipulation on lumbar intervertebral disc herniation.Methods 120 patients with lumbar intervertebral disc herniation were randomly divided into two groups.60 patients in treatment group were treated by Fu's acupuncture therapy combined with manipulation,60 patients in controlled group by electric acupuncture combined with manipulation,with a treatment course of ten days for both groups.The therapeutic effects were observed for two treatment courses.Results After treat- ment ended,total effectiveness in treatment group and in control group was 56/60 cases(93.3%) and 47/60 cases(78.3%) respectively,the cured cases in treatment and control groups were 21/37 cases (56.8%) and 11/31 cases (35.5%) respectively after 1 treatment.There were statistically differ- ences between the two groups (P0.05).Conclusion Fu's acupuncture therapy combined with ma- nipulation is effective in treating lumbar intervertebral disc herniation,with shorter treatment course and better curative effects.
