Therapeutic effect of prolapse of lumbar intervertebral disc by traction combined with Fu's acupuncture therapy

Abstract
Objective To observe the therapeutic effect of prolapse of lumbar intervertebral disc by traction combined with Fu's acupuncture therapy. Methods 110 patients with lumbar intervertebral disc were randomly divided into two groups. 62 patients in treatment group were treated by traction combined with Fu's acupuncture;48 patients in control group were treated only by electric acupuncture, with a treatment course of ten days for both groups. The therapeutic effects were observed for two treatment courses. Results The total effective rate after the first treatment course was 51.7% in treatment group and 25.0% in control group, there was a significant difference between two groups (P0.01);the total effective rate after the second treatment course was 95.2% in treatment group and 81.2% in control group, there was a significant difference between two groups (P0.05).Conclusion Traction combined with Fu's acupuncture is effective in treating prolapse of lumbar intervertebral disc, with shorter treatment course and better curative effect.
