Abstract
Methyl-2-hexylace was synthesized from methyl acetate and 1-bromohexane in the presence of sodium ethanol as catalyst. The effects of amount of catalyst, mole ratio of raw material and reaction time on the yield were investigated. The most favorable reaction conditions were obtained and the yield of methyl-2-hexylacetoacetate which was characterized by FT-IR could reach 62.27%.
