To explore the relationship between sperm acrosin activity and IVF

Abstract

Objective To study the relationship between sperm acrosin activity and IVF.Method Based on the level of sperm acrosin activity,236 cases of IVF-ET were divided into three groups.Group A:≥48.2 μIU /106 sperm,total 95 cycles;Group B:30～48.1 μIU /106 sperm,total 92 cycles;Group C:﹤30 μIU /106 sperm,total 49 cycles.The rates of fertilization,cleavage and good embryos of the three groups were compared.Results There was no statistical differences between A,B and C groups in the rates of cleavage and good embryos(P0.05).The rate of fertilization in group C was significantly lower than in group A(P0.05),but not significantly different from B group even though the data showed that the rate was lower in group B.Conclusion When the sperm acrosin activity was lower than 30 μIU/106,the rate of fertilization was obvious decreased.Then intracytoplasmic sperm injection treatment may be helpful.
