Abstract

The aim of this study was to evaluate boar sperm acrosin levels and its relationship with other quality parameters and in vitro fertilization rate. Acrosin level of spermatozoa in fresh, diluted and liquid semen were 5.27, 4.28 and 4.41 ( mIU/106 )respectively. Acrosin levels of frozen semen and liquid stored for 4 days declined significantly(P0.05).Acrosin levels and swelling sperm percentage of liquid semen between boars different had significant difference(P0.05) . There was no effect thermal and cold shock to acrosin levels. There was positive correlation between acrosin levels of fresh and frozen spermatozoa, swelling sperm percentage and intact sperm percentage. There was no significant correlation between acrosin level of different boars, in vitro fertilization rate and blastocyst rate. Therefore ,our suggested acrosin level combined with other sperm funciton parameters can predict fertility correctly.
