Abstract

OBJECTIVE To explore the key points and assess the effect of hospital infection prevention and control during the large-scale outbreak of influenza A(H1N1).METHODS During a large-scale outbreak of influenza A(H1N1) in a college,a series of trainings about hospital infection prevention and control carried out, standardized personal isolation and protection technology and strengthened medical waste supervision and had an overall analysis and assessment on the mentioned above according to the state and military guidelines related to hospital infection prevention and control in combination with actual situation of the outbreak filed.Detailed epidemiological investigation and case monitoring were persisted in research. The school hospital was divided into three zones and two different channels. The temporary medical zones and observation zones were divided into different functional areas.RESULTS As a result, situation of admitting patients disorderly, infection of medical personnel, poor protection measures of patients, and a large number of medical waste accumulations were solved rapidly and significantly. No medical staff infection and no severe and critical cases occurred after hospital infection prevention and control measures were carried out.CONCLUSIONS Hospital infection prevention and control is an important part for large-scale epidemic outbreak controlling.Correct, rapid and effective control of nosocomial infection with other epidemic prevention and control measures is essential to deal with large-scale epidemic outbreak.
