Abstract

SummaryControlled pollination experiments involving several almond cultivars/selections were conducted to determine the effect of pollen parent (xenia) on horticulturally desirable nut and kernel characteristics. Considerable influence of pollen parent has been observed on nut size and the time of nut maturation, but no effect was observed on shell hardness, sealing of nuts or the percentage of double kernels.
