Efficacy and safety of Wenxinkeli plus trimetazidine in treatment of viral myocarditis

Abstract
Objective
To observe clinical efficacy and safety of Wenxinkeli plus trimetazidine in treatment of viral myocarditis.
Methods
Totally 45 patients with viral myocarditis were randomly divided into two groups.Patients in treatment group were given orally Wenxinkeli 5 g, 3 times a day and trimetazidine, 20 mg, 3 times a day, and the patients in control group were given adenosine triphosphate, coenzyme A, vitamin C, coenzyme Q10 etc.; the treatments persisted for 4 weeks for both groups.
Results
The clinical symptoms, signs, ECG improvement, and restoration of myocardial enzyme were significantly better than those of the control group (P<0.05).
Conclusions
Wenxinkeli plus trimetazidine was effective in treatment of ventricular premature contractions of viral myocarditis, and showed no significant adverse reactions.
