Drug Resistance of Escherichia coli Isolated from Clinics in 2009

OBJECTIVE To investigate the distribution and antibiotic resistance of Escherichia coli(E.coli)isolated from hospitals and offer suggestions for clinical doctors.METHODS The antibiotic susceptibilities to 24 kinds of antibiotics were tested by K-B method and analyzed by WHONET software.RESULTS There were 431 E.coli strains isolated from hospital in 2009.The detection rate of ESBLs-producing E.coli was 47.56%.The drug resistant rates of E.coli strains to ampicillin,piperacillin,cotrimoxazole,cefuroxime,cefazolin,gentamicin,ciprofloxacin,ampicillin/sulbactam,cefotaxime,levofloxacin,aztreonam,ceftriaxone,ceftazidime,cefepime in order were 81.44%,71.93%,60.32%,51.28%,50.35%,49.19%,49.19%,48.26%,48.26%,48.03%,48.03%,48.03%,47.10% and 46.64%,respectively.E.coli were resistant to all of the antibiotics at a certain degree and susceptible to carbapenems,cefoperazone/sulbactam,amikacin,furadantin,cefotetan and piperacillin/tazobactam.CONCLUSION Drug resistance status of E.coli in nosocomial infection to antibiotics is very serious,the monitoring and control should be strengthened.
