Abstract
Phosphorus application significantly improved all yield attributing characters in both the seasons. Number of flower buds, size, weight and yield of fruits were increased upto four per cent superphosphate application and beyond this, there was no significant increase. The quadratic response curves were fitted between the yield of guava fruits and the rate of phosphorus application. Six per cent super phosphate produced maximum T. S. S., sugars, ascorbic acid and pectin, but reduced acidity content in fruits. Winter season crops fruits possessed better quality than the rainy season ones.
