Abstract

The article presents a case study which concerns the regulatory response of the Dutch government to the 2013 implementation of the Alternative Investment Fund Managers Directive (AIFMD) by the European Union (EU). Topics explored include the investment fund coverage of the AIFMD, the perceived implications of the AIFMD for alternative investment fund managers in the Netherlands, and the standard management of alternative investment funds (AIF) within the EU region.
