Abstract
A field experiment was conducted to evaluate the effectiveness of six treatments against the insect pests of okra. Studies revealed that all those treatments that have neo-nicotinoids viz. as seed treatment with imidacloprid (3.0 or 5.4 g ai kg−1 seed) or follar spray of thiacloprid @ 20 g gi ha−1 or thiamethoxam @ 25 g ai ha−1 at 50 5ays of sowing were found effective in managing Amrasca biguttula biguttula population. The treatments with imidacloprid @ 3 g ai kg−1 followed by a foliar spray of γ-cyhalothrin @ 50 g ai ha−1 or β-cyfluthrin @ 11.75 5 gi ha−1 at 50 days of sowing were the most effective treatments and gave only 2.2 and 3.2% infestations, respectively, against Earias vittella and incurred 320.1,370.8% increase in yield over control.
