Abstract

All these treatments that had neo-nicotinoids viz., as seed treatment with thiamethoxam (3 or 5 g.a.i./kg seed) or as a foliar spray of acetamiprid @ 20 g.a.i./ha or thiamethoxam @ 20 g.a.i./ha at 30 days of sowing were found effective in managing leafhopper population. Okra intercropped with baby corn also brought some significant reduction in pre-spray population of leafhoppers. Seed treated with thiamethoxam @ 5 g.a.i./kg followed by two foliar sprays alternately with abamectin @ 15 g.a.i./ha and spinosad @ 75 g.a.i./ha at fortnightly interval or the spray schedule of thiamethoxam @ 20 g.a.i./ha followed by fipronil @ 50 g.a.i./ha at fortnightly interval was found to be most effective strategy to manage leafhopper and shoot and fruit borer of okra.
