Abstract
C-(3-Methoxy-4-hydroxyphenyl)-N-(phenyl) nitrone and its N-phenyl derivatives (Illa-IIId), prepared by condensing 3-methoxy-4-hydroxybenzaldehyde with phenylhydroxylamine and substituted phenylhydroxylamines, have shown in vitro fungitoxicity against Curvularia lunata, Alternaria alternata, and Helminthosporium tetramera by spore germination inhibition method. The compounds were ineffective against Fusarium oxysporum.
