Abstract

Aqueous solutions of Gibberellio acid were sprayed at concentrations of 10, 25, and 50 ppm to flower clusters of Pusa Seedless variety of grape. At the lower concentrations of 10 and 25 ppm, the fruit-set was increased by 76.50 and 59.11 percent respectively. Applications at the highest concentration used viz., 50 ppm, resulted in thinning of flowers and reduction of fruit-set by 15.41 percent, but produced highest average weights of both the bunch and the berry with increase of 223.13 and 139.43 per cent respectively over the control. The treatments in general tended to elongate the shape of the berry and did not affect the high quality of the Pusa Seedless grape.,
