Abstract
The aim of this investigation was to study the effect of pre-harvest chemical sprayon quality characters of pomegranate cv. Bahgwa. There were twelve treatments with five chemicals, viz., CaCl2, Ca(NO3)2, KH2PO4, KNO3 at 1 and 2 per cent and GA3 30 ppm, 40 ppm, Water spray and Control (No spray) were sprayed three times starting at full bloom and subsequently at 45 and 90 days after fruit set, replicated three times in a Randomized block design. Results revealed that, application of KH2PO4 at 2 percent shows significantly highest total sugars, reducing sugars, titrable acidity, Anthocyanin content, aril and juice percentage. The chemical parameters like total soluble solids and ascorbic acid content were greatly increased with 2 per cent Ca (NO3)2 sprays.
