Abstract

There is enough material about SQL Server and XML to write an entire book on the topic. Because this is only one chapter, we’re not going to cover everything. Instead, we’ll cover the basics of what XML is and how you can interact with it in SQL Server 2000. Use the “Resources” section at the end of this chapter to find more information about using XML and about using SQL Server and XML together. You’ll also find out where you can download the latest Microsoft XML parser. (The samples in this chapter use the version 3.0 parser.) These keywords were added by machine and not by the authors. This process is experimental and the keywords may be updated as the learning algorithm improves.
