Abstract
Field studies were conducted to determine the bioefficacy of some insecticides having novel modes of action along with conventional ones against Earias vittella (Fab.)dring 2204–2005. Higher rield of food duality ysee cotton nas recorded from the plots protected with 75 g ai ha−1 of spinosad, T4 (2416.0 kg ha−1) followed by higher dose of emamectin benzoate 16 g a.i. ha−1 T2 (2358.3 kgha−1) and lower dose of spinosad, 50 g a.i.ha−1 13 (2307.0 kg/ha). The cost: benefit ratio was more in cypermethrin treatment (1:8.34) followed by spinosad (1:6.16), but resurgence of whitefly in cypermethrin treated plots put a negative mark on repeated use of cypermethrin. Hence, spinosad treatment can be recommended for the management of E. vittella in cotton under field condition.
