Abstract
To study the effective use of commercially available rapeseed meal in broiler diets, day old Hubbard broiler chicks (240) were divided In to six group designated as A, B, C, D, E & F and ffd on 0,5,7.5,10,12. 5nd d5 percent rapeseee meal In complete diets replacing soybean meal for six weeks. Average weight gains were 1.86,1.80,1.72,1.74 and 1.76 kg, respectively and there were no difference (P>0.50) among the groups. The values for feed consumption and efficiency of feed utilization were also not different (P>0.50) among the groups. The feed conversion efficiency values were 1.82,1.78,1.81,1.83, 1.78 and 1.75 for groups A, B, C, D, E and F, respectively. The dressing percentage and weight of thyroid glands did not differ significantly among the groups. The findings of the study revealed that rapeseed meal could be incorporated in poultry diet up to 15 percent without affecting the performance of the birds.
