Abstract

A field trial was conducted at farmers field to evaluate efficacy of certain insecticides viz., cartap hydrochloride 4G, cartap hydrochloride 50SP, fipronil 0.3 GR, fipronil 5 SC, profenofos 50 EC, lambda-cyhalothrin 5 EC, biopesticide viz., Bt and botanical viz., neemarin, against rice leaf folder, Cnaphalocrocis medinalis. All the insecticides were found effective in managing leaf folder and increased grain yield over control. Fipronil 5 SC was found to be best as compared to others as it was also found economical, followed by cartap hydrochloride 50 SP and lambda cyhalothrin 5 EC, respectively.
