Abstract
Field studies were undertaken on brinjal crop during summer to evaluate bioefficacy of four newer selective acaricides and NSKE, as a botanical pesticide against the red spider mite, Tetranychus cinnabarinus (Boisd), the treatments constituted abamectin 1.9% EC, bifenazate 240 SC, fenazaquin 200 SC, spiromesifen 240 SC, NSKE 5% and dicofol 18.5% EC, as a standard check. All the test acaricides were found efficient in controlling the target mite. Abamectin (9 g a.i./ha), spiromesifen (84 g a.i./ha) and fenazaquin (120 g a.i./ha) were found to be more promising in suppressing population of the target mite.
