Abstract

After many years of campaigning and lobbying, NTEU has finally achieved our goal of having intellectual freedom in higher education legislatively protected. The Higher Education Support Amendment (Demand Driven Funding System & Other Measures) Bill 2011 was passed in September 2011, and amends the Higher Education Support Act 2003 to require higher education providers to uphold free intellectual inquiry in relation to learning, teaching and research.
