Abstract

Fenitrothion when tested at 0.5, 0.07 and 0.1% concentrations offered good control of jassids on brinjal and okra. Fenitrothion in concentrations of 0.07 and 0.1% was found effective against fruit borers of brinjal and okra, and was ineffective against mites on both the crops, The persistence studies revealed that fenitrothion in concentrations of 0 05, 0.07 and 0.1% persisted for 4 to 5 days on brinjal and 5 to 7 days on okra A warring period of 4 days for brinjal and 5 days for okra is sufficient for safe human consumption when treated with 0 07% concentration of fenitrothion.
