Abstract
[Objective] To evaluate the utilization and demand of VCT service among men who have sex with men (MSM), and study on the related influencing factors on VCT utilization. [Methods] Through quota sampling, 312 MSM were recruited and interviewed with anonymous questionnaires by face to face so to gain the data about the use and demand of VCT services among MSM. The related factors influencing on VCT services use were evaluated by Logistic regression analysis. [Re- sults] Among 312 MSM, 77.56% of them had never made use of VCT before, 46.15% of them didn’t know VCT information, 70.19% of them thought it being necessary for themselves to accept special HIV counseling, 45.19% of them thought it being unnecessary for themselves to accept HIV testing, and 46.79% of them had never worried about themselves to be infected by HIV. Logistic regression model showed that knowing VCT, having been mobilized to accepted HIV testing by doctors, worrying about being infected by HIV, etc, were promoting factors of VCT used among MSM, while thinking local VCT service unnec- essary and not knowing local situation of HIV prevalence were main obstacle factors. [Conclusion] MSM group had a certain degree of demand but an insufficient use to VCT. Information spread of VCT and risk realization of self-infection were the main factors influencing on VCT use among MSM group. To promote VCT services use among MSM, it was very necessary to strengthen abduction exercises and intervention activities so that to advance information transmitting and improve the knowledge of MSM to AIDS and VCT.
