Abstract

Described is the 67-mile single line commuter rail system which provides service within Palm Beach, Broward, and Dade counties including a station link directly to Miami's Metrorail system in Hialeah in South Florida. Once construction begins on I-95, ridership is expected to reach 14,000. Start-up operations incurred many problems which have since been corrected. Now emphasis is on providing a good feeder service and safe and convenient parking since the majority of those who will be expected to patronize the system will have to commute to the stations.
