Abstract
Five systemic insecticides viz, menazon, oxydemeton methyl, dimethoate, formothion and carbofuran @ 0.17 and 0.34 kg a.i./ha were evaluated for the control of mustard aphid, Lipaphis erysimi Kaltenbach, infesting seed crop of radish Raphanus sativus Linn. Mena-zon 0.34 and 0.17 kg a.i./ha and oxydemeton methyl 0.34 kg a i./ha which reduced the popu-lation to 5.7, 12.7 and 22.3 aphids respectively, against 226.0 aphids/20cm long inflorescence in the control and increased the yield to 975, 970 and 1134 kg/ha respectively, aguinst742 kg in the control, proved very effective.
