Abstract

Invariant cross sections have been measured for the production of hadrons (..pi../sup + -/, K/sup + -/, p, and p-bar) in the range of P/sub perpendicular/ from 1 to 4.65 GeV/c by protons in the nuclei C, Al, Cu, Sn, and Pb at energy 70 GeV. The dependence of the invariant cross sections on the mass number A is not described by the power function A/sup( alphap//sub perpendicular/), which indicates the existence of absorption secondary hadrons in the nuclei.
