The theory of the stabilizing effect of finite ion Larmer radius is applied to a plasma containing several species of ions. The resulting dispersion relation shows that this effect probably stabilizes Scylla and possibly also the plasma focus.Strictly, the theory applies only to a plasma of iow ~ and with small gradients ([grad p]fp small), thus our conclusions lack certainty.
