Abstract

The summer of 1998 marks the roll-out of the AZTech Model Deployment in the Phoenix urban area. All systems for this ITS Model Deployment will be fully operational by early August 1998. This historic event will represent the completion of a two-year effort by both the public and private sectors to create a showcase of Intelligent Transportation System technology that is a model for other urban areas throughout the United States. This paper describes elements of the Model Deployment and how they work together to provide both Traffic Management and Traveler Information
