Abstract
The degree of purity of Y/sub 2/O/sub 3/ and Sm/sub 2/O/sub 3/ from the VEB Stickstoffwerke Piesteritz was determined by activation analysis. The necessary separation of the rare earth impurities was made in a micro ion exchange column. The detection sensitivity of the apparatus with an analytic sample or 100 mu g was 10/sup -3%/ Sm,S x 10/sup -4%/ Eu, and 10/sup -1%/ Gd and Y. The apparatus used is described. (tr-auth)
