An Analysis on the Changes in the Water Quality in Taihu Basin during 1998～2006

From mid-1990s to 2006.the water quality of Taihu Lake declined to grade Ⅴ.The eutrophication condition became middle horizontal from light eutrophication level degree in those 10 years.Viewed from the water quality changing tendency in the area surrounding Taihu Lake in recent years,the various water quality index has been worsening in Changzhou City district.Industrialization,urbanization as well as shifts of irrational agricultural production style and life quality improvements contributed greatly to water quality deterioration of Taihu Lake.Moreover,irrational management system,and the lack of environmental protection idea and limited capacity of sewage treatment are the fundamental reasons for water environmental deteioration in Taihu Lake.
