Abstract

This paper discusses the social situation for disabled people in Malawi. The main problems are a lack of mobility aids, and poorly designed buildings and public facilities. Transport and mobility problems contribute to poor education and low employment prospects. The government gives disability issues a low priority and this must be changed.
