The best time to place urethral catheter on operate patient before operation.

Objective To explore the best time to place urethral catheter on operate patient before operation.Methods The 60 selective general surgical patients were randomly divided into two group between January 2007 and January 2008,the 30 patients of control group were indwelling urethral catheterization before operation began,the 30 patients of observation group were indwelling urethral catheterization after general anesthesia,the blood pressure,and the successful rate of once catheterization were observed and recorded.Results Heart rate and blood pressure before urethral catheterization and after urethral catheterization have no significant difference in observation groups,while they have significant difference in control groups(P0.01).The successful rate of once catheterization was higher in control groups than in observation groups while they have significant difference in control groups(P0.01).Conclusion To place urethral catheter on operat patient is the best time after general anesthesia.The physiological reaction of patients who undertaken indwelling urethral catheterizatio after general anesthesia was lower than the patients who undertaken indwelling urethral catheterizatio before general anesthesia and indwelling urethral catheterizatio after general anesthesia could increase the successful rate of once catheterization.
