Abstract
This article reports on a study of the relationships between urban land-use and transportation characteristics. The author stresses that the integration of land-use and transportation systems is the key to achieving sustainable urban mobility and to solving urban traffic problems. The author focuses on sustainable mobility by considering the dynamic evolution of the relationships between transport supply and demand. The analysis can lead to improved land-use patterns and transportation systems which are necessary for reasonable, high-density land-use patterns for businesses and residences, while retaining suitable greenbelts, public spaces, and public facilities. The article includes the methods and a flowchart of integration. The author concludes that integrated transportation systems that are built to satisfy transport demand characteristics with effective urban land-use patterns will guarantee suitable urban development.
