Abstract
Seattle is one of the most congested urban areas in the USA. An Advanced Traffic Management System (ATMS) covering more than 100 miles of highway now provides state-of-the-art monitoring and management. The new system integrated several older operations into a single console and now provides a solid foundation for expansion into further IVHS opportunities.
