Abstract
A Bacteria Strain HB2 primarily identified as Arthrobacter sp was isolated from sludge and wastewater of a petroleum chemical plant. It was acclimatized by gradually increasing NaCl concentration and optimal conditions for growth and degradation were investigated in medical wastewater which has high concentration of NaCl.It was found that Strain HB2 could tolerate the concentration of NaCl up to 10%.The optimal conditions for degradation of medical wastewater were as follows,COD 11880mg/L,volume 6mL,pH 7.5,NaCl 5%,temperature 30℃,culture time 5d,the degradation rate reached 39.2%.It shows that environmental factors had a clear impact on the growth of HB2 and treatment of medical wastewater.
