Abstract

The article describes the current status of the first 10 km of the Bergen Light Rail Transit (LRT) project. When completed, the LRT line is expected to contribute significantly to reduction in traffic congestion in the area, offering passengers a comfortable ride. Due to financial constraints, the remainder of the 20 km line to Bergen Airport, as well as other LRT lines planned for to the northern and western areas of the city are expected to go ahead at a later date.
