Abstract
Assuming that the size and location of a damage hole is known, using the plastic analytical approach, the ultimate strength of a damaged ship is calculated. The influence of possible buckling phenomena has been taken into account. As an example, the structural ultimate capacity of a damaged warship is assessed, and the calculated result is compared with the original. The compared results show that the assessment is practical and feasible.
