Abstract
This paper presents some results from the joint research programme of the Bulgarian Ship Hydrodynamics Centre (BSHC) and Krylov Ship Research Institute (KSRI) on the development and improvement of water jet design methods. A brief review is given of the theoretical models developed and numerical methods used, as well as the experimental investigations and results obtained in this field. It is concluded that the problem of designing water jets with advanced efficiency and cavitation properties has been successfully managed without any geometrical and hydrodynamic restrictions.
