Abstract
A strain Y106 nighly produring extracellular neutral cellulase was screened and identified as Bacillus sp. The fermentation conditions in shaking flasks were investigated. The highest lever of cellulase activity was induced in the medium containing wheat bran. Fructose was a excellent inducer. The efficiency of organic nitrogen sources was better than that of inorganic nitrogen sources, while peptone was the best organic nitrogen source. Cellulase production could be improved by Fe 2+ , Fe 3+ , Na +, and Ca 2+ , while inhabited by Cu 2+ , Ag +, Co 2+ , and Hg 2+ . The components of the medium were optimized by the method of RSA(Response Surface Analysis). When Y106 was cultured under the optimum conditions, cellulase production could reach 4.57 IU mL -1 .
