Abstract

This supplementary resource paper was presented in part 3 of the workshop. It argues that taxis can and do play a significant part in paratransit. The taxi industry should take a positive approach to paratransit developments and should actively promote the taxi's potential role in paratransit projects. It calls for more dialogue between government, health and welfare agencies and the taxi industry. This paper was originally presented to the half yearly conference of the Australian Taxi Industry Association held in surfers paradise in February 1979.
