Abstract

The article discusses the findings of Railway Age's exclusive annual compilation, based on a survey of all passenger rail transportation agencies in the United States, Mexico, and Canada. The outlook predictions are based on passenger rail production information. Survey results are provided in the following categories: cars delivered in 1998; orders likely to develop in 1999; work progress on undelivered backlog, as of 1 January 2000; and the five year (2000-2004) outlook.
