Abstract
The objective of this study was to evaluate the effectiveness of the ceramic weigh-in motion (WIM) sensor based screener-sorter systems installed at the Texas Department of Public Safety truck inspection facilities as a tool for screening overweight trucks from the traffic stream for static weight enforcement. Based on the evaluation results, an alternative quartz WIM sensor technology was installed and evaluated.
