Trunk road 61: orange - parkes

On 27 may, 1985, the nrma traffic and safety department conducted an inventory survey of trunk road 61 from orange to parkes. Observations showed that pavement widths were generally narrow, alignment occasionally poor, and the shoulders and pavement edges were often in poor condition. As such, the main roadworks needs identified were the widening of the pavement and the upgrading and widening of shoulders (a).
