Abstract
The development and testing of a vibration measurement device for use in motor vehicles is discussed. During the test phase and in the first applications designed for actual use, the suitability and faultless functioning of the apparatus was reported. Of particular advantage was the use of current from the vehicle's system and the simple statistical method of calibration. The application of the apparatus has hitherto been confined mainly to vibration measurements in cars and lorries, both on highways with varying pavements and also on other ground surfaces. A further range of uses is possible when the instrument is linked to an analog computer. /TRRL/
