A STUDY IS PRESENTED OF THE PRIORITY GIVEN TO BUSES AT JUNCTIONS THROUGH THE PROGRAMMING OF TRAFFIC SIGNALS. CHANGES IN CYCLES CAN BE OBTAINED BY SHORTENING OR LENGTHENING THE GREEN PHASE REGULATING THE TRAFFIC ON THE LANE RESERVED FOR BUSES. THE ADVANTAGES AND DISADVANTAGES OF THIS TECHNIQUE ARE DISCUSSED.
